Civera is a growing software startup that’s on a mission to make government more transparent and accountable. We love what we do, we have fun doing it, and we’re looking to bring on a Product Manager to accelerate our impact.

Our ground-breaking software has the potential to become the nation’s most popular tool for citizens to find election results, voting statistics, insights about money in politics; and for government agencies to revolutionize the way they serve public requests for this vital information. Our tool is already launched or in progress in ten US states and is poised for adoption by other state, county, and municipal governments, and even other countries – and you’ll be in the middle of the action.

Civera is seeking a Product Manager to join our team in our Cambridge, Massachusetts office. The ideal candidate is an experienced SaaS Product Manager with a successful track record managing the entire software life cycle – from discovery, to design, build, delivery, UAT, and launch. Successful candidates are excellent communicators and collaborative problem-solvers, and can work on several projects in parallel without breaking a sweat. The Product Manager has the primary responsibility of balancing white-label product needs with delivering on specific projects that match our government customers’ objectives – including timeframes, quality excellence, customer satisfaction, and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Take total ownership of the entire process of new feature development and product support, from conception to deployment.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Product Owners, engineers, designers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate all product roadmap planning, epic/story and sprint planning, with a keen understanding of “how long things actually take”.
  • Carefully balance competing needs between product stability, versatility, change, and customer-specific configurations.
  • Communicate impeccably with customers and share the optimal balance of bottom-line, actionable information, along with constant listening, check-ins, and steady progress toward realistic deadlines.
  • Document everything using the appropriate tools.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Run UAT and work with the customer to ensure successful, error-free launches.

Requirements

  • 3+ years product management experience in SaaS, including Agile methodologies
  • Government and elections experience is a plus
  • General UX expertise
  • Technical experience, ability to understand and translate customer requirements to software engineering architecture; knowing how to help engineers find breakthroughs
  • Mastery of Jira and Confluence and/or other ticketing and knowledge base tools
  • Strong facilitation skills (operational, progress and status meetings)
  • Able to coordinate across virtual geo-distributed teams, as needed
  • Able to quickly adapt to and learn new technology interfaces
  • Effective time management skills, with a strong ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Experience using collaborative tools like Google Docs
  • Proficient in MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel

Salary & Benefits

$65,000 – $95,000 annual salary, depending on experience and skills. Health benefits, flexible schedule, and paid time off included.
